I have submitted applications for two places. The first one is a house in a neighborhood that seems okay. It does have a park within close walking distance. The house is really nice and in great condition. It just seems really small. I am not sure where all of my bookcases would go! It does have a yard that I would have to maintain (means buying a lawn mower) but has washer/dryer. My hour would be about an hour with a train/bus ride. I haven't looked into shuttles. So, a cute but small two bedroom house.
The second place is an apartment and costs more money but has more space. It is in a great neighborhood. The commute would be slightly less and involve only one bus. I like the layout of the apartment, has a washer/dryer, lots of light but does cost a little more than I really want to spend. The neighborhood is definitely a bonus.
I have a few more places I want to look at as back-up before dinner tonight with future co-workers.
I feel a little less stressed now that I have two strong possibilities.

Now I'm wondering where you're talking about. I love the neighborhood where our friends live now (and where they lived before) - it's a NE section.
