Post- NY Employment

This is the first Sunday in two years that I don't have a job to go to on a Monday morning. Of course, that joy will only last a little while but I can still enjoy the mini-freedom. The last day of work was fairly emotional. It was really hard to say goodbye to many people who taught me so much about being a manager, inspired me with their ideas and performance, and provided tons of personal and professional support over the last two years. I was really taken aback at all of the comments people made to me and the very generous gifts given to me by my department. It really is a bittersweet move. This job was the hardest to leave (okay former co-workers stop laughing...it is true!).

We went out for drinks after work. As usual it was a very late night but I ended up without a hangover. I guess I learned my lesson from the last going away party I had, so I stopped drinking fairly early on.

Now what? Pick up the packing. The one room that hasn't been touched at all is the kitchen. We are going to start going through it and decide who is taking what.
