It has been a warm week. I guess it has reached the 80's the last 3 days. I have been relieved that the temps haven't bothered me because I really don't care for hot weather. In NJ/NY, I probably would have been bitching because of the humidity. Here..not so much. It has really cooled off in the evenings so I am actually a little cold in the morning. I've gone on walks during my lunch break which has also been nice. This is the first year since I was basically a kid that I haven't had air conditioning. I know. I am spoiled. I have bad allergies!!
Elston is the one who needs a little more adjusting to the heat. I started taking her on a third walk close to when I crash for the night. Tonight, I decided to take her around 9 and it was just a really pleasant time to be out. People were on their stoops talking to neighbors, out watering their flowers, or walking around the neighborhood. One father was trying to get his newborn baby to fall asleep. We went by the local high school and people were coming out of a school event. Everyone said hello or commented on the little red dog. It felt like the perfect summer evening in an actual community.
